About BARF

What is BARF?
The term BARF comes from the English "Biological Appropriate Raw Food Diet" and means in German "Biological, species-appropriate raw food".

This is a raw alternative diet that was developed to provide dogs with a modified home-cooked diet that consists of raw muscle meat and raw meat bones, vegetables and fruits, and eliminates all processed foods.

What is BARF food made of?
The recommended guidelines for BARF food consist of 70% muscle meat, 10% raw edible bones, 7% vegetables, 5% liver, 5 % other secretory organs, 2% seeds or nuts and 1% fruit.

  • Muscle meat (70%)
BARF food consists of raw muscle meat to provide essential protein, amino acids and water-soluble vitamins. It is recommended that 70% of total daily intake come from muscle meat. This does not mean, however, to feed the dog exclusively with muscle meat, but also with saturated fat and heart muscle meat.
  • Raw edible bones (10%)
Soft, raw edible bones are an important part of the BARF diet to provide essential calcium, phosphorus and other essential nutrients.
  • Vegetables (7%)
Vegetables are useful ingredients to provide essential nutrients and useful phytochemicals. Vegetables are useful in meeting the essential nutritional needs for dogs.
  • Liver (5%)
The liver is another important component that provides essential fat-soluble vitamin A and water-soluble vitamins. Other secretory organs such as the kidney also provide useful ingredients to provide essential minerals and water-soluble vitamins.
  • seeds & amp; Nuts (2%)
Raw seeds and nuts are useful ingredients that provide the BARF feed with essential minerals, fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins.
  • Fruit (1%)
Fruit contains useful ingredients and provides antioxidants, but is fed in small amounts due to its high sugar content.

Benefits of BARF
Switching to BARF for your dog is one of the best decisions you can make for your pooch! The raw food diet for dogs offers advantages, as their ancestors did not eat commercial nibbles and canned pet food either. Some of the advantages at a glance:

  • Firm stool and better digestion
Liquid stool in dogs can be quite annoying - especially if you have to clean it up every day. BARF also calls for an overall improved digestion without the gases that occur in dog food from the can or snacks.
  • Better coat and healthier skin
BARF gives dogs healthier skin and a healthier coat by fully addressing their nutritional needs. You don't have to add any additional supplements.
  • No more allergies
Did you know that wheat and corn are the most important food allergens in dogs? By eliminating these from your diet, there is no longer any allergy drama or veterinary bills for allergies.
  • Healthy, white teeth
BARF ensures healthier teeth and gums. Bad breath will also go away.
  • More energy
Have you ever had the feeling that your dog simply has no desire and energy? What your dog eats has a major impact on its behavior and energy levels. Carbohydrates found in snacks can give your dog a short-term energy boost, but he'll soon feel tired again.
  • Strengthened Immune System
Wild dogs and wolves seem to have fewer illnesses and health problems because raw food strengthens their immune systems. BARF is also high in fatty acids and other important nutrients that boost the immune system.
  • Preventing Diabetes and Arthritis
Thicker dogs are more prone to diabetes and arthritis. By opting for raw feeding, you will minimize the possibility of diabetes by preventing constant increases in blood sugar. The reduced chance of inflammatory conditions also helps prevent arthritis.
